Question: Will the seal on this type of bag remain closed during shipment?
Answer: All of our poly bags are manufactured with quality in mind, and the seals on our bags are no exception. While there is no guarantee that any seal will hold in all situations, you can expect that our seals will remain sealed in most situations and will not open on their own without direct outward pressure of an unusual strength being applied, such as over packing.
Question: How do I know what "mil" or thickness I need?
Answer: 2 mil poly bags are reasonably strong and adequate for the bulk of packaging applications. They are our best-seller. For sharp or heavy products, however, you might consider a 4 mil or 6 mil thickness. If your product is light, lacks sharp corners and won't be excessively handled or over packaged, then you should probably consider 2 mil to save on costs.

Question:
Is it better to use a resealable bag or an open ended bag with ties?
Answer:
Many business owners and consumers prefer the ease of bags that seal with a pinch of their fingers. Bags with seals can also save packaging space. Many manufactuers and packaging companies, however, use open ended bags with twist ties or a heat sealer to seal the end of the bag for a more permanent seal. The best method to seal a bag is the one that works best for you and your customer.

Ziplock Bags – Unmatched Value in Performance Packaging
By Crystal D’Avignon
Zip lock poly bags have long been a favorite form of affordable packaging among consumers, manufacturers and contract packaging companies. Offering arguably the most simple form of closure and reclosure, the flexibility of a zipper bag is unmatched among the many choices of plastic bag packaging.
During the manufacturing and packaging processes, parts can be added as production or packaging progress unfolds. With a virtually unlimited number of reclosures, the Ziploc© style bags can be opened and closed by anyone who handles the preparation of a product from the initial stages of manufacturing through the final stages of preparing the retail package.
Clear zipper resealable plastic bags also allow easy inspection by Quality Control professionals. Their clear construction makes visual inspection a snap. This reduces customer complaints about missing parts. Fewer customer inconveniences mean more happy, returning customers who will also be more likely to recommend the brands they like to their friends, family and business associates.
While many zipper bags do allow enough space to be sealed above the zipper for security against pilferage, it is not a requirement in terms of achieving a reliable closure. The speed with which they can be loaded and secured is significantly improved when compared to their non zipper bag counterparts.
While this product has always been very popular, price reductions resulting from mass production and outsourcing to low-overhead off-shore manufacturers has set this zip bag style on a growth path that few other industrial packaging products can match. Sales of small zip bags and large zip bags continue to skyrocket.
Ease of use, flexible function, economic advantages, reliability and consumer popularity combine to indicate that we’ll be seeing growing numbers of quality recloseable LDPE bags, as well as companies like Discount Plastic Bags selling wholesale ziploc© style bags for many years to come.
